“When You Come Back After a Break”
It’s been a little while since I’ve posted here. Life got loud, schedules got messy, and some days I just didn’t have the words. Maybe you’ve been there too — that strange space where you’re not falling apart, but you’re not fully present either. You’re just… drifting.
Here’s what I’ve learned in recovery and in faith: Coming back is part of the journey. Not a failure. Not a setback. A return.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is simply show up again — to your routine, your community, your Bible, your recovery work, your purpose. Not perfectly. Not dramatically. Just honestly.
If you’ve been quiet lately… If you’ve slipped into old habits… If you’ve been overwhelmed, tired, or disconnected…
You’re not disqualified. You’re not forgotten. You’re not starting from zero.
You’re just stepping back into the light.
Recovery isn’t about never drifting. It’s about refusing to stay gone.
So here I am — back at the table, back in the work, back in the calling God trusted me with. And if you need a sign to come back too, take this as your nudge.
You can begin again today. Quietly. Slowly. Intentionally. And God will meet you right where you left off.
